This project involved upgrading the existing consumer unit to comply with BS7671 Amendment 3. The installation included Type A RCBO protection on all circuits and the addition of a Type 2 Surge ProtectionDevice (SPD) to protect the installation and connected equipment from transient over voltage. In addition, a dedicated electric vehicle charging point was installed externally to provide a safe and efficient home charging solution for the client’s electric vehicle. The charger was connected via a dedicated circuit and fully tested and certified in accordance with current electrical regulations.
Consumer Unit Upgrade
Installation of a new metal consumer unit with individual Type A RCBO protection for each circuit, improving safety and reducing nuisance tripping. A Type 2 SPD was installed to provide protection against transient over voltage from lightning or switching events.
EV Charging Point Installation
Installation of a smart EV charging unit mounted externally on brickwork, providing a convenient and reliable home charging solution. The charger was installed on a dedicated circuit from the consumer unit and fully tested and commissioned..
